Boundless Outdoor Fun
At Little Acorns, we believe that the great outdoors is an essential part of a child's learning environment. Our specially designed safe outdoor spaces offer children the freedom to explore, play, and grow in nature, regardless of the weather. With two thoughtfully constructed canopies, we ensure that fresh air and outdoor fun are always on the agenda, even on rainy Welsh days. This all-weather approach not only promotes physical activity and gross motor skills but also builds resilience and adaptability in our little ones. From puddle-jumping to cloud-watching, every outdoor experience is an opportunity for joyful discovery and sensory exploration.
Our outdoor area goes beyond play, doubling as a living classroom where children actively participate in water and sand play, our muddy kitchen, small world play, construction, painting, role play, slides, weaving, loose part play, story time, mini beast hunting, den building, forest school activities, planting, balance bikes and parachute games. Through gardening, little hands eagerly plant seeds, tend to seedlings, and watch with wonder as their efforts blossom into thriving plants. This hands-on experience with nature fosters a deep connection to the environment, teaching valuable lessons about patience, responsibility, and the cycle of life. As children nurture their plants, they simultaneously cultivate important skills such as problem-solving and teamwork. The pride and joy they experience when harvesting the fruits (and vegetables!) of their labour is unmatched, instilling a lifelong appreciation for nature and sustainable living.
