At Little Acorns, we understand that proper nutrition is the foundation of a child's health, growth, and development. A balanced, nutritious diet in early years not only fuels physical growth but also supports cognitive development, enhancing learning abilities and setting the stage for lifelong healthy eating habits. That's why we've made it our mission to provide children with delicious, nutrient-rich meals that nourish their bodies and minds. We employ a full time cook who freshly prepares three meals and a healthy snack on a daily basis. We are able to cater for allergies, and dietary preferences. We won an award in 2024 for Food and Nutrition.
But we don't stop at simply serving healthy meals – we believe in educating and involving children in the journey from farm to table. Our mini allotment is a source of pride and excitement for our little ones, where they actively participate in growing their own vegetables. This hands-on experience not only teaches them about the origins of food but also instills a deep appreciation for fresh, wholesome ingredients. The joy on their faces as they harvest vegetables they've grown themselves is priceless. With our 5-star food hygiene rating and a team of staff trained in food nutrition, parents can rest assured that their children are receiving the best possible nutritional care. At Little Acorns, we're not just feeding growing bodies; we're nurturing a lifelong love for healthy, delicious food.
We are proud to be part of the Healthy and Sustainable Pre-School Scheme, a national programme for childcare settings across Wales supported by Public Health Wales. Little Acorns has successfully completed the Nutrition and Oral Health phase of the scheme, recognising the balanced, nutritious meals and snacks we provide every day and our commitment to good oral health through the Designed to Smile programme. It is just one of the ways we help every child build healthy habits for life.
